<< Paintings by Janice Schiff | | Moving to southern Mexico, near Zihuatanejo, 10 years ago, I retired from being a psychotherapist in the state of Washington. I presently live on a beach in a remote area where Olive Ridley turtles lay eggs in front of my home. I live with my husband, 5 cats and 2 Belgian Tervurens. Almost exclusively self-taught, oil painting is a means to explore my ongoing connection to myself, nature and Spirit. I enjoy challenging myself with new approaches in every painting, seeking spontaneous inner expression. To keep a freshness and express a felt connection to all subjects, whether portrayed literally, abstractly, or just interpretively in the moment is a conscious intention I hold in mind and heart when painting. I have sold numerous paintings over the years, but since moving to Mexico, because we are quite isolated, have sought an online approach to sell at this time. |
